Suncorp Bank has activated its disaster relief packages for personal and business customers impacted by the unfolding weather emergency in North and Far North Queensland.
The packages can include:
- The opportunity to defer scheduled loan repayments for an agreed period.
- Variation of existing loans (for example conversion from principal and interest to interest only payments).
- Waiver of early withdrawal interest adjustments for the early withdrawal of term deposits.
- Debt consolidation to help make repayments more manageable.
- Credit card repayment relief where necessary.
- Short-term working capital (for example temporary overdraft).
- Additional finance to assist with cash flow shortages.
Suncorp Bank CEO Bruce Rush said the bank was here to support customers in need.
“As the situation continues to evolve, we want our customers feeling the impacts of the floods to know our team is ready to help,” he said.
“Affected customers can call us on 13 11 75 to discuss the options available to them.
“Our thoughts are with the people of Northern Queensland, and we hope everyone, including our staff and customers, stay safe.”
Suncorp Bank’s Aitkenvale and Castletown branches in Townsville are closed due to the weather, while the Cairns Central and Cairns Smithfield branches could close in the coming days.
ATMs in Townsville remain fully operational, with other Far North Queensland ATMs currently being prioritised for cash replenishment and repairs.
